New here today!
I was an old Harley guy in the 70's thus the JockeyShifter username, lol!
I am a cnc programmer and machinist as well a a dedicated Colt guy. My preference is a Colt Lightweight Commander, five of them live at my home with me. I bought a DW a while back but prefer the Lightweights for daily carry. I'm from Georgia so Open carry is what I usually do unless I need the element of surprise then I CC. I work on my guns, bobtails, slide polishing to a very high finish,. I make 1911 grips as well. Some of my grips can be seen at my website http://www.sgmgrips.com My personal work website is http://www.microsystemsgeorgia.com This is a great site, I really love and appreciate the DIY forums, we all love guns and working on them is just going to happen. I look forward to many good days on COTEP! Thanks, Michael |

Really nice grips! Those are some interesting parts on the other page. Are the orange parts prototypes of something?

Welcome aboard Michael!
When I started college back in the late 70's I was going to be a CAD/CAM engineer - not sure what happened, but it's still a field that interests me. I've actually looked at some of the "do it yourself" CNC machines that folks have built. Stick around and enjoy the assylum! Lane |
I'm not sure which page you are looking at but I do make prototypes.
