A friend of mine had one and he liked it for hunting deer. I don't believe they're as common as they once were and brass might be hard to come by if you reload. I like my 30-30.

Very popular older short range cartridge for similar game you would use a 30-30 for. I had a Marlin 336 that was pretty accurate and an old Rem 141 that was very accurate. They feel about like a 30-30 when you shoot them but have a heavier bullet. A lot of old brush deer hunters used to swear by them. I took one elk at short range and it did the job just fine. No longer hunt so all mine are passed on. .35 cal (Rem, .358 Win, .35 Whelen) used to be my favorites under 200 yards.
