California is a nation, not a state’: A fringe movement wants a break from the U.S.

“California is different from America,” said Marcus Ruiz Evans, one of the movement’s co-founders, as he sat on the patio of a Starbucks in Fresno. “California is hated. It’s not liked. It’s seen as weird.”

Guy has it all wrong. CA is a unique state with problems and solutions unique to it. Same as every state in the Union. His description of CA above is most often applied to FL, NY, TX, CO, WA, MA, NJ, the list goes on. Each states unique identity is what makes it a diverse and beautiful country to live in. The cocept of unique states was not lost on the Founding Fathers as well. They provided a way for each state to express individuality while providing for the Union as a whole. So he may feel like CA is a special snowflake of a state and he is right but all states are special and our Union is better for them all.

Oh their flooding and slides are frightful
And the fires are not delightful
But since we don't give a sh*t
Let them split! Let them split! Let them split!

:p

Perhaps some well placed charges along the San Andreas fault. Float it off shore!

Sue Hirsch, 46, said she is “ashamed to be an American” in the wake of the presidential election.

“I wanted to be here [at the meeting] to be no longer American, but Californian,” said Hirsch, who voted for Hillary Clinton and said she has at least seven professions, including psychic, Uber driver and hypno-transformative masseuse. “I hate what the rest of America has become.”

Uhhhh.... I'm almost speachless. But never completely.

1. One of the world's largest economies? Go ahead. Secede. Silicon valley businesses will relocate to Nevada and Arizona.
2. Military and protection? Not from the US. What will the snowflakes do when the Mexican Army (and yes, the do have one).... drives north and reclaims what they still believe was stolen from them.
3. Do they really think Northern CA is going to go with them? Those folks are still trying to form the State of Jefferson. They have trouble with Psychic Uberdrivers aqnd hypno transformative masseuses too.
4. And this one is conjecture since I've heard it, but can't prove it: The only State that has the legal right to secede is the State of Texas. That's because Texas was an independent Republic with its own constitution before it became a State. All other states were either colonies or territories that were admitted to the union.

All this said, while CA might want to secede, I don't believe they can... at least legally. BUT that doesn't mean we couldn't throw them out! Imagine what would happen if the congress voted to remove them. Mass refugees trying to get to Nevada and Arizona before the cut off dates. Businesses going under, panic, pillage and plunder... Worse than the Andreas Fault Balloon going up.

Just my morning rant... errrr... I mean... 2 cents.

Those boneheads can run their nuttlikkers all they want about succession, bottom line – it ain’t happening, but, it’s fun to listen to them make fools of themselves though.
