Thank you, Jim BTW, this is a terrific carry piece. |

Followed your link and just ordered.
Thank you! Jim Is there a reasonably priced punch set you’d recommend? Im a clutz so don’t need anything extravagant. |
Check out Brownells, they have loads of gunsmithing tools.

Sight selection
Wanting to replace H&K VP9SK standard sights. Thinking Trijicon HD XR, Hi Viz HKN321 or fiber optic front with blacked out rear. Would appreciate y’alls input based on your experience.
Thanks guys, Jim |
Personally, I'm done with Trijicon. that's what is on my DW Guardian. lost the lens on the muzzle dot 8 months after acquisition. sent it back to DW, took 6 weeks to get it back. Didn't last a month. And no chemicals used to clean the sights.
Yes it is my carry gun and I drag it around everywhere. But it's riding around is a Galco fletch or Charles Wright custom. I'm thinking of trying a Meprolight or TruGlo. My brother inlaw has a big orange AmeriGlo fiber optic on the front of his ultra CDP. Man does that thing stick out! He said it really help the short sight radius issue. might look into that. Also saw a faceted ruby stuck in a Tj missing a lens, looked interesting... But no more Tj's for me. |
Grace USA makes some excellent gunsmithing punches. They are on Amazon. They are a little spendy, but if they break, just call them and they will send you a new one.
Pro-tip: shorter punches are easier to control and less likely to slip or skid, marring your gun. If it is a roll-pin, use a roll-pin punch, a regular punch will just screw the pin and the hole up. |

See if you can go to local gun store and look at the handguns with the different sights and see which one your eye catches the best. Good luck! |
Thanks a bunch, guys.
