Gotta have one...
The range where I usually shoot (at least when I'm shooting indoors) is also a gun store. Today, he had a little 3" Rock Island for $399... I've decided I must have one.
I am curious though - he also had a little 3" Colt and a 3" Springfield. All three have full length guide rods. Seems to be the norm in the small 1911's. Why is that? Anyway, now I've got to figure out how to scrape up $400 - I just sent a big check to Bob Rodgers for a down payment on my project gun. Lane |
The main reason the Compact has a full length guide rod is that one short enough to allow the slide to retract fully would be too short to provide much support.
Lane, the RIA Compact is a good buy for the money. The RIA Compact is actually a 3.5" barrel.:) |
I think $399 is a pretty good price isn't it? I hope you guys want lots of belts and holsters...
