S&W Model 25-2 Custom John Jovin0

I was looking thru big bros. guns and came across this S&W Model 25-2, 2” custom barreled 45 ACP Revolver apparently built by John Jovino in NYC. it has a 2" barrel, rounded butt. It has a ball bearing detent in the yoke to assist with lock-up?? From what I can find Jovino was the only one to use the ball bearing. the reasoning is that with the ball detent helping to secure the yoke instead of relying on the (relatively) small ejector, the lock up is more positive. It uses Star or half moon clips. Ser number N9004XX, which was supposed built in 1981. It looks exactly like this:

Other than that, I can't find any additional info on the gun. It's in perfect shape and bluing looks like it came straight from factory.

He did the Enforcer, a Star .44 mag, first and the S&W 25 followed shortly thereafter.

If it hadn't been for his foresight S&W may never have built the 3" 625's.

Very nice Ron. I had the opportunity to shoot a 6" 25-2 yesterday, low recoil and accurate as heck!

At first glance, it reminded of a M-19 I once owned.
