Sig Nightmare - the poor man's DW?

What do you think?

Bobbed and all, and even the Govt length model is bobbed.

With the VBOB getting out of reach for the less-than-filthy-rich enlightened pistolero, do we have a new pistol worthy of adoration by the enlightened?

Looks cool, I wish it didn't have an external extractor.

if your looking into Sigs check out http://summitgunbroker.com/ you will have to email him a list for prices on Sigs but i would bet they are the best out there.

My DW Panther has an external extractor, but it was done right. Not like the Mimber botched attempt.

I've actually had better luck with external extractors on 1911's that with internal. The one exception being my Mimber 22 slide...

Anyhow, I now come to find out that I didn't actually buy a Nightmare. It is a "Fastback" but it's not on their web site. The difference being that the Fastback has all Nitron coated stainless hardware (except the hammer,) solid trigger instead of skeletenized, and double diamond rosewood grips instead of G10.

Looks just like a Kimber Super Carry HD... Round butt frame, not bobbed!

Nice to see Kimber's being copied

I saw the Nightmare last year as it was being introduced and was attracted to it. I looked it over and started to do some research (never had a 1911 before) and ended up buying a DW Guardian.

Not sure adoration is the right word, but I'm sure a Sig 1911 fanboy. My next purchase will likely be a P938, and if I were in the market for another fuller-sized gun, I'd go for a Carry Nightmare probably.

Still waiting for my custom, which is also a bobtailed commander.

I'm really jazzed about the Sigs and believe they are about the best you'll find out there for the money.

But adoration? :hail: :hail:

Seems over the top :)

I am waiting for the panic buying to be over, then when I can find one, I want the Sig Nightmare Carry. I still have my NIB DW VBOB stainless, but since I got it for $850, I have kept it as a safe queen/BBQ gun.

That's why I was subtly prompting you about that in your other thread. Just didnt want to be "that guy". But whatever they want to name it, it's a good looking gun.

I've been saying that Sig 1911s are probably the most underrated gun on the market right now. My brother has two and they are fantastic guns. In my opinion, they've got the best bang for your buck in the sub-$1000 category.

I have a buddy who just got one. He has only put maybe about 100 rounds through it but hasn't reported any malfunctions yet. I'm gonna get my hands on it soon and see how its acting as far as extraction and ejection goes. I had a full sized Sig TacOps a while back that was a little less than awesome. I ditched it, and I picked up a TacOps Carry version today. So I'll give it a shot, and report back. Something about Sig's 1911s is just sooo interesting. They do make a beautiful well fit pistol, now if they can just get the reliability thing nailed down.
