Kali County votes to secede from state

Kalifornia's Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 on Tuesday in favor of a declaration for secession.

... residents of the majority Republican county lobbied the board in August to consider secession. In addition to a lack of representation in Sacramento, they cited concerns about water rights and a rural fire prevention fee approved by the legislature.

Supporters want other rural counties in Northern California and Southern Oregon to join them in the creation of a new state.

Siskiyou County is up in the boondocks...mountains and not much else. The rest of the state won't miss them much!

Actually, they may, once the conservative folks in the state migrate there and take their tax base with them
