Better EDC?
Which do you think is the better choice for EDC: Dan Wesson CCO, Dan Wesson Guardian (45) or Sig P220 Carry SAS Gen 2 SAO?
Thx, Jim |
I'd be partial to the fullsize Wesson. Not a fan of Officer sized pistols. Course, I don't like bobtails, either. Kinda like a girl with one bo*b...I like girls with both :D

I bought a CBOB in 09.. If I was doing it today I'd pick the Guardian.. I even think after 43 yrs of .45 1911s I'd pick the 9mm for my EDC.

OP, I think it will come down to what is more comfortable to EDC for you. Personally, the CCO gets my vote (although I don't own one now). |
Of those three, I'd go with the CCO. If you're going to downsize from a Govt model you might as well do it right. It's the grip that will make the gun print during CC, and a compact frame 1911 hides really well.

I carry a 3 inch when i cant carry full size i like it. But i carry a tarus lcp 380 when i cant carry a 3 inch. You know church govt meetings family reunions funerals the nessasry carry occations .

Any weapon is better than no weapon. I carry a Vbob which DaveW and pig think is broken. |
I like the 4.25 inch barrel only because I, at my weight, find the slightly shorter barrel easier to clear leather. That being said I do also carry full size, I wear a holster that allows more drop, usually under a large fishing shirt. So your body frame counts.....can you easily conceal a full size 1911?
Sure you can....cause the grip is the grip...it's the barrel length in question. Though you might want to try shooting a bobtail 1911...people love 'em and people hate 'em. If possible try both size guns out a little, try to get a grip on what works for you and your body type for comfort and concealability. My vote personally is full size. I believe that the shorter the barrel on a 1911 gets the gun has more reliability issues. The shorter barrel 1911's, in many models, went to the bull barrel setup due to reliability issues. I am all about reliability...full size. |
Those are all nice options Jim. I don't have a P220 but I do have a CBOB and a CCO. It amazes me how much smaller the CCO feels in the holster. I guess of those 2 if I had to pick it would be the CCO.

My Guardian .45 is my EDC.
