Yup, the ammo facility wasn't directly hit, but people got wind of the explosion and an ammo run ensued. I bought just before the explosion, the ammo I bought jumped up $7 a box and now is closed out. Panic doesn't help the shortage or pricing.

If people would just stock enough of their favorite brand/load then when stuff like this happens, there would not be a shortage (sort of).

"There was a fire? OMG I better go buy as many as I can!"

I was one of those people when the shortage of .22lr first started. You live, you learn.

At least you learned....I still know people, people with $$$$, who have just a few boxes of ammo. These same people pissed and moaned through the ammo blackout. One offered to buy 1k of .223 from me for $2K...two bucks a round. I turned him down, I'm not in the ammo business. Like I always preach, buy a little more than you need for a practice day and squirrel that little bit away. I still have 9mm ammo marked $2.99 a box. Stinks like sh*t when I shoot it, but it works, and I'm not paying $14.99 a box for ball 9mm.
