Mag rebuild
Had a Shooting Star mag that puked. Bought the Wilson ETM rebuild kit and stuck the spring and follower in last night. Now the mag will only take 7 rounds, as opposed to the 8 it should. Reckon I'll let it sit loaded awhile to see if the spring takes a set and I can load another round. If not, I'll have to put the old follower back in, I reckon

Have you tried the Tripp rebuild kits? They have worked for me in the past on my CM Shooting Star mags.

Mike, you will lose one round of capacity due to the longer front-leg of the Wilson follower. I have three of these and carry them every day without a bit of worry. If you want eight, load the mag, rack the slide, remove the mag and put another round in it.
Personally, I'll trade one round I really don't need for 100% faultless operation anytime. |

Hit it right on....the kit is better than factory...its a great trade off. |
It's not a carry mag anyway...it's a 20 year old mag that was in my safe. I carry 47D's

loaded it with 7 rounds and chunked it in the safe to see if the spring takes a set. If not, it will continue to be a range mag...I have 4 Wilson 47D's I carry, so we shall see
