Slimy Liberal Media Tactics
 

I haven't seen this mentioned on many of the gun forums that I haunt, but since we are fairly new here, I thought it would be good to point out some sleazy tactics that are going on out there.

There's an outfit called Righthaven LLC who, as I understand it, essentially buys the copyrights to all of a newspapers content, and then very aggressively goes after anyone who quotes or posts links to that "copyrighted" content. And they are having success. You can read more here: http://righthavenvictims.blogspot.com/. They include a list of media outlets who have subscribed to this "service." It's worth taking a look at to make sure that none of your regular reads are here. One of our local papers - I won't even mention their name in disgust - are here.

We need to be careful in using or referring to information that comes from other sources. Make sure that we aren't doing anything that'll get the board owners in legal problems. The blog lists a couple of sites that have been put out of business because they couldn't afford the fight.
