While I don't agree with REQUIRING All Students in schools to be proficient with firearms, I do agree that ALL Students should have access to training, and ALL Students should be REQUIRED to LEARN about firearms, and I would not mind my tax dollars going to that program at all.

When I was a high school teacher in the 70's, I taught a gun safety class after school. At the time high schools all had Drivers Ed classes, so I told people "Why not Shooter's Ed?"

The funny thing is, in Taiwan, where my wife grew up, guns are strictly prohibited for private citizens to own, but she was trained to shoot an M-16 as part of the compulsory military training.
