Hello from Orlando!

Hello fellow pistoleros!

After getting seriously tired of the bull$h!t from some "other forum" that shall not be mentioned, milkmanjoe suggested I signed up and participate in this fine forum. I contacted Mike (riverpigusmc), so here we are. I know a great deal of members in here already, having met quite a few in person.

A little bit about me. I've been a dedicated gun scholar for the past 5 years, and a college professor for over 12 yrs. Naturally I saw the need to combine both interest so I recently started a side biz as a pistol instructor focused on instinctive/reactive point shooting.

I enjoy discussing everything firearms and look forward to learn more about the mighty fine 1911 platform. I don't own a 1911 but they are such an iconic firearm that helped shape the freedoms we currently enjoy, and needless to say some are just a work of art, that I look forward to the day I own one.

I need to do research as I want my first to be an entry level one, one I can tinker with without fearing screwing a $2,500+ gun in the process.

Thank you and look forward to interacting and learning from all of you.

Happy New Year.

Pedro (pitor)

I know. With wife's radiation treatment here in Jax, life's been a little hectic. Glad to be here though.

Thx. I didn't mean to make Mike look insensitive, so if it came across as such I apologize. We're doing good, moving through this process. I will keep you all updated. We have a great place to stay and have our great Dane puppies with us. Life is good
