 Duty Coat is essentially the same thing as Cerakote - a polymer / ceramic SURFACE COATING that is painted onto a gun and then baked. Duty Treatment and Hard Hat Treatment are the same type of process as Tenifer, Melonite, etc. that is - Ferritic nitro carburizing . That IS NOT a surface coating. It is part of the metal and the treatment penetrates and hardens the surface of the metal. Someone correct me here if needed, but I believe? DW switched over to the Duty Treatment sometime in 2010. |
