The 38 Super was everything I had hoped and is a favorite cartridge. I have bumped into a couple of great deals on a new DW Guardian in .38 Super and I am on the fence torn between the above and a Les Baer Comanche in 38 Super. There is about a $600 difference in cost. I have owned Baers in the past and had no problem but Mr. Baer's attitude regarding his 100% satisfaction warrantee gives me pause. It is nice that he is proud of his product but telling customers to pound salt does not inspire confidence with me..Should I have a problem I want the person who made the gun to care that I am concerned.
I totally relate, Dennis. I, too, own a Baer, a Commanche HW Monolith. And, yes, Les definitely has an attitude. I really like his guns but he gets stubborn about my Mono having a, GASP, reverse crown, I just don't get it. Oh well. By the way, I went and had that crown done anyway. Don't tell Les.

While I wouldn't be adverse to owning a Commanche HW Monolith in .38 Super the price difference between that and the Wesson IS significant. Add to that the Wesson is a top notch gun in its own right swayed me in that direction and I must say that I'm not sorry with my choice.

That's a tough choice you must make and I wish you the best in making that decision.
