Seventy-five years ago the Allies were coming ashore in waves to the beaches of Normandy. Six years ago during a visit with my wife's son in Paris we spent 3 days in Normandy France including St. Mere Iglais, Gold/Juno Beach and Omaha Beach including the US Military Cemetery there. Humbling. Everyone should try to visit Normandy and the Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC. That's even more humbling because there are shipmates on the wall.

Since it's D-Day +75 Years here's a military issued knife; the Cattaraugus Q225; a knife intended for Quartermasters and Supply types; big thick blade to pry open wooden crates and a bit steel butt for driving the nails back in the wood!
