See, I have this Series 80, and I have figured out that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the frame itself. Being that it's a forged SS frame, I hate to trade the whole gun on something with a cast frame, which I came very close to doing several times.

What I really want, of course, is a Valor, but can't afford it right now. And even if I traded the Colt there are no Valors locally to trade for. And being the Luddite that I am, I'm not into buying things on the Internet.

So...

Should I hang onto the Colt until I can hava a custom 1911 built on the frame, or maybe try to find a Valor locally (preferably a VBOB) to trade it on when I have the dough? (THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION IN ANY SHAPE MANNER OR FORM)

I'm thinking of having a Bobtail conversion done, which, with a good slide might make the Colt a carryable piece.

I would really prefer to trade it on a VBOB, but that requires an alignment of the heavens that doesn't occur often (both having the money and having a VBOB available locally for trade at the same time)

I figure with a custom I can do it whenever I have the money.

Opinions please...
