I'd like to make the following suggestion for a bill. For each tour of duty in a combat zone, the warfighter reduces his federal income tax by 10%. For every year in the military, the individual receives 1% off their FIT. This extends for life.
For any warfighter who dies in a combat zone, his family, in perpetuity, has to pay no income tax. Family means spouse and children.
I know this would cause non-soldiers to pay more tax, but that's fair, since we didn't lay outlives on the line for our country.
