WTF! 
When I was in High School, we took knives in to "Show and Tell" all the time!
And, We did have pickup trucks in the parking lot with 30-30 lever action Deer Rifles, and Shotguns in gun racks in their back windows !
BTW: NO SCHOOL SHOOTINGS, EVER.
