Thanks for the welcome, Doc. Even though I really enjoy shooting 1911's, they are not second nature for me. So for self defense purposes, I stick with a platform that is as familiar to me as breathing. I've tried many times to get away from Glocks because, let's face it, they are
boring. No external safeties, the same trigger pull over and over and over again, no de-cockers, etc. Other guns can be more fun to shoot at the range, but if the world turned to sheet in an instant, I'd go to the platform that I have hundreds of thousands of rounds through. Nothing bad intended about any of the other fine handguns out there, I just do better with my tupperware.
