Aha, this is where everyone has disappeared to! I am another runaway from that "other" forum. Happy to see lots of familiar folks here, many of whom I have had the pleasure to meet over the years.
I am originally from LI, NY, escaped to South Florida 27 years ago and NEVER looked back. I was introduced to shooting in the early 80's by my then "future husband" and I got my license and my first gun, a S&W revolver. I did not grow up around guns, matter of fact, I got my Dad interested and he too eventually got his license and a .357 which I eventually inherited.
Upon moving to FL in 1987, the new firearms law had just passed and we intended on getting our licenses. But we were buying a new house and never seemed to have the extra money, the licenses were not a priority. Over the next 20+ years we went to the range only a few times and finally got our licenses in '08. Unfortunately, hubby does not share my enthusiasm and does not carry, but I do manage to drag him to the range once or twice a year.
I carry wherever legal. I have purchased a "few"
guns and have commandeered hubby's guns as well. In addition to my revolvers I have several Glocks, plus a few others and my token 1911, an SA EMP. Hoping to steal MM J O E's black stainless one day when he isn't looking.
