Last weekend (July 4th) they had several shootings, and the event got similar publicity. They neglected to mention in the paper that one of the shootings was a valid self-defense by a newly minted concealed carry permit holder.
The publicity is likely part of an orchestrated campaign to convince the sheeple that "guns are bad" and that they should go back to the restrictions Chicago has had for the past decades.
Lost in all of this is the true cause of crime.... Think of all the children that are victims... (you know, the 15-19 year olds... the ones in the gangs.... )

All Gun Control Laws are Falsely Assuming that Criminals will OBEY the Laws. Point in the case of Chicago, no matter what Laws they enact, the Guns will still be in the Gangs hands, Period. The ONLY People that Obey the Laws are Lawful Gun Owners and they will be rendered Defenseless by Tougher Laws on Guns..
The young ones that are in The Gangs, they made a CHOICE to be in them.
For what reason? I dunno, Drugs, Money, Power & Sex?
