I tried to find some currently manufactured 1911s with barrels shorter than 4.2" that didn't have a bull barrel just to see how many there were, and I could not find one.

I find standard(plug/bushing) Springfield Champions on Gunbroker all the time. These are gonna be my retirement hobby. I have never paid more than $560.00 and once paid $390.00.....Every gun ran. A few wouldn't eat HP ammo well. One was a never fired 1991 Champion, I paid $506.00. Have eighteen of 'em now. But you are right....most current 4.25 barrels will be bull/bushingless....and that is why I don't buy them. The bull barrel, being fully ramped, has been declared more accurate by some, as well as more reliable feeding. I'll go with possibly more reliable feeding, but the accuracy claim will never be proven in my mind.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end!
