I have a MKII standard I bought from a buddy when I moved into the house that his dad used up in VA as a snake gun. He has been bugging me lately to buy it back from me. I might have to sell it back to him. I don't want to because I love history of the pistol. He just wants to shoot a 22 at the range. He sold his fathers issued 1911 from Korea that was a colt built in 1944 according to serial number. So I am hesitant in many ways because I don't like the fact he just does that to family history. Especially sold to someone who just wanted to use it as a boat pistol.

He has become very lax with family history with his firearms and just seems to be about the money lately. I own his fathers 22, his fathers black powder, and his grandfathers 12ga DB. He sold his families smoothbore black powder his family used in the civil war as well. I don't remember the manufacture but I held it and told him to give it to a museum with his families name. He didn't do it. So his families name dies with him.
