Since this a repeat thread, I will repeat my answer: "not paying 2k for a gun with a fugly trigger". The fact that it's a 10mm is the only thing in MY opinion that will make worth 2k, since there are limited options in the 10mm market.

I would definitely not pay 2k for the 45 version.

Les Baer would get my money if I were to spend that kind of money on another 1911.

REMEMBER, THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION!!!!
....and that's great!

1. The gun won't sell for $2K, it'll be less, more like $1800 probably, especially after the initial offering. People keep saying, I wouldn't pay $2K for that gun.... you won't have to if you decide to buy one.
2. Triggers can be replaced if you dislike it that much. That seems like a very small issue given the whole firearm if it's real quality. I personally don't mind the trigger. I've seen some I like better. Actually I don't like the solid trigger much at all, but that's me.
3. While there may be some gray areas, surely the overal fit and finish, as well as accuracy of a given model is a matter of objective evaluation. I'm not competent to make that evaluation, but some people are. I'd love to hear from them regarding Les Baer GUNS and Dan Wesson GUNS. I've read here among those who dig into the internals often and shoot for accuracy that DW and Les Baer compare well. Personally ANY maker can gain a standing that can continue far beyond it being deserved or warranted. Whether that is the case with Les Baer GUNS or not, I can't say. However, some people treat them as though they are the Holy Grail of 1911s and surely that is not the case.

...and that is my opinion. I've never owned or shot a Les Baer, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk Custom or any other 1911 that cost more than $1200 to $1400. In fact, I've never shot ANY firearm that cost more than $1300 street price, so, I can't say. Some people claim that all you have to do is shoot a Les Baer 1911 and you will know immediately the difference and never, ever be satisfied with anything less again. Perhaps that is true. As for me, I'm satisfied with my Dan Wessons.

However, I do know enough about psychology and some neuroscience to know that people are not always objective, they have biases of which they are not at all aware which radically affect their subjective experience one of which is that you often experience what you expect to experience which is the reason for double blind tests. It's also the reason why objective evaluations should be carried out objectively.

I also know that people think they can perceive far more granular levels of distinction than they are really capable of doing. That is part of the human condition. We are VERY adapt at fooling ourselves and not even knowing it. It goes for all of our senses and the mind as well.
