I think I'll settle for a BFR (commonly known as a "Big F***ng Revolver", but actually it actually stands for "Big Frame Revolver") in 45-70 (they also make it in 444 Marlin, 450 Marlin, 460 S&W, and 500 S&W Magnum)
A lot cheaper, both for the gun and the ammo. (MSRP $1149) Maybe not big enough for elephant but you can still shoot buffalo with it...
