I'm more SUV than Humvee. Too much of a gas guzzler.

Lol, true. They are all terrain, and will pass everything except a gas station.

Had a chance to drive quite a few of the civilian version H1's, a very good friend of mine worked for AMGeneral and had the use of many of them as a company vehicle. If I remember? correctly the price range on those started around $80,000. Off road they were a very capable vehicle, on road it had a lot of diff. gear and tire noise (to be expected IMO) it's diesel had very little guts, the 7.3L diesel in my Ford truck had much more power/torque. While I certainly never put one through the paces like the military would/does the civilian version was a nice truck .... would I spend $80,000+ on a new one ... no.

I drove one for well over a year for the company commander.
