I am fortunate that I have been employed long enough to no longer required to work any holidays. But for 10 years I worked them all and its not fun. So I appreciate the sacrifice that anyone makes to work holidays. My sister is a nurse at a small elderly care facility and her kids are older so she always volunteers to work so her coworkers with young children can have the day off.
I will take tomorrow morning and call all of my friends patrolling to personally thank them. Its hard to miss things but knowing your needed is something you feel proud to be apart of.
