MEMBER ALERT re: RECENT SCAMS IN OTHER GUN FORUM WTS FORUMS

This message was posted in the Colt Forum by their Administrator.

"Over the weeked we had 3 seperate "new" type foreign scam attempts (at least something I haven't experienced) .

All were posted in the Want to Sell forum . I've dealt with hundreds of spammers pushing electronics , nike shoes , porn , etc . These were specific gun/gun related items for sale with real photos(probably stolen from online ads) and priced below market value but not crazy low . Just enough to get quick attention and make the buyer think he found a deal . The items advertised were Colt revolvers and vintage Mauser scopes . The "seller's" IPs showed they were from Nigeria and Poland . One member had responded to a Colt revolver ad and was given an address in St Louis to send money .

All 3 were spotted by alert members , thank you !

Use caution when looking at items from "new" members posting ads.

Other forums have seen at least one of these guys as I've spoken to the administrators there too .
