Default Reloads and more

Today I took a short trip to the range. I would liked to have shot more but it was 101 on the car themometer on the way home.. really hot.

Anyway, I've started reloading again and took my first 10 rounds to the range. This was a deliberate loading process with no short cuts.. Every charge measured, all dimensions on every round measured, etc. I used an old Colt Combat Commander for my test gun. I like the way they grouped at 50'. The two at 6 O'Clock werer my first two rounds and my kick in the pants wake up call. I would like to say my reloads were not up to par but I doubt that to be true.

Next I wanted to shoot my Valor and newly acquired Les Baer Premier II. I used stock mags for each weapon and fired 5 rounds per mag, alternating weapons till I had fired about 25 rounds per weapon. First target is my Valor and it's results.

This next one is the LB. Shot group is up and left and looks to be more dispersed than the Valor target.

I was concerned about the accuracy on the LB but when I cut out the Valor Target and placed it on top of the LB target, it was almost completely covered. So I need to make some sight adjustments and go back again and test it out.

It was a good day at the range. I am gaining confidence in my reloads and need more range time to break in those very tight 1911s from DW and LB

Now that I've got this thing going, I plan to load my karma winnings from you. There are so many new powders on the market now. I used unique because I was comfortable with it. I may try some other powders when I can get to a gunshow. I just hate paying to ship powder and primers.
