Talking You're never too old to become a DW fan...

I'm 61-years-old and a lifetime gun enthusiast, but have only recently become a fan of Dan Wesson. My buddy bought a DW .357 in the early to mid-70's but that's been about my only personal experience with the brand until recently.

Earlier this year I bought a Heritage and was impressed with the fit and finish. So on Saturday I stumbled onto a sale (10% off the every day great prices at my local gun store) and ended up trading the Heritage (you can't keep them ALL!) for a Valor and bought a V-Bob and 9mm Guardian while I was at it.

They proudly take their place in the gun safe among the handgun collection from target .22's to scoped .44 Magnums.

Here are the quick pics of Saturday's haul. (For fun, I also included photos of the other two Saturday purchases; a GSG 1911/22 and a Benchmade Tanto Axxis Assist.)

The Valor...

The V-Bob...

The 9mm Guardian Alloy...

Though non-DW, here's the GSG 1911/22...

And last but not least... the Benchmade Barrage Tanto Assist...

I've kept ONE lonely (butt-ugly) G27 .40 sub-compact for many years now. It's the "leave it in the truck and don't worry about it getting stolen" gun. But it IS 100% reliable: 1500+ rounds and no "surprises".

Kimberlys? Ummm.... No. I owned two and neither one would feed a whole clip without at least one FTF or one FTE. Same with a Para-O .45 Hawg I once had the misfortune to own. The Para-O was inaccurately named as it was actually a PIG. Both Kimberly's and the Pig were soon traded for guns that actually go BANG! when you pull the trigger. ARGH!

I know there are lots of dyed-in-the-wool Kimberly fans out there, and even some serious Para-O homeboys, but I could never get either one to work for me.

So far, my experience with DW's is like my experience with my several Sigs and XD's and my Kahr MK40 Elite: Kinda like a revolver- 100% reliable 100% of the time!!

Thank you (and others). I can see that there may be some truth to the addiction thing.

Already I'm plotting a .45 Guardian...
and a new 715...
and maybe a nice 15-2 with some extra barrels...
and maybe a 445 SuperMag...
and a Constitution Commemorative and a...........

Somebody hold me back. Oh wait- this probably isn't the right place to make that request! LOL!
