Default Doctor with a Gun...

An armed Doctor stopped a shooter at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa on Thursday. Not all news reports tell the whole story.

Watching the AM news, the doc may be in trouble. Who could believe that a doctor, who helps people daily, arms himself probably just for this situation, and could end up on the wrong side of the law for saving more lives?

That part of the ly metro area is a bad area. My wife and I lived a little west of there before we moved to Florida.

I grew up about a mile and a half from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital (on the same street.) It was a predominately Republican area, bordering on adelphia (liberal cesspool). adelphia has a decades long practice of violating gun owners rights. It is my understanding that adelphia has oozed out into the surrounding counties.

As a retired health care professional, I will not be surprised if the Doctor gets sacked for violating the hospital's no gun edict. The hospital is part of the Mercy Health System and I expect the Doctor to be hoisted on the petard of political correctness. It seems to me that he made the courageous choice when he chose to arm himself. Unfortunately, I think that he will have to live with it.

A New York psychiatrist defends Dr. Silverman:

http://www.nationalreview.com/articl...robert-b-young

The District Attorney said "If Dr. Silverman did not have the firearm and did not utilize the firearm, he’d be dead today. And other people would be dead.”

The hospital has apparently decided not to punish Dr. Silverman and has released a statement saying that it looked forward to his “return to serving patients at our hospital.”
