Spooky.. I'm out here for big double surgery tomorrow. I have stopped by two drug stores for supplies for the return home. I always walk, like we all do, by the magazine counter to peruse a gun magazine. There's always a cover story or something of interest. "Mas Ayoob on the Taurus Curve vs the venerable 1911 for underwear carry" or something.

Neither big drug store had any gun magazines at all! There were mags on botanicals, exercise, all sorts of obscure stuff, but no gun magazines.

I guess they registered and then confiscated them too. YIKES..

Best of luck w/ the surgery.

Don't let them hide any fruits or nuts in your incision.

Piece of cake and thanks for the well wishes. It's a different world here, the busses are propane and don't stink, different fuel requirements with smog inspections required.

This morning at breakfast we witnessed a guy walking along measuring and recording the circumference of trees, electric street sweepers and things we don't see at home. Guys in dresses, street performers that are pretty good and beggars everywhere.

The doc I'm seeing is a world class orthopedist in Beverly Hills and after we saw him I asked where to take wife for a nice meal. His office arranged lunch at a super expensive place and as we walked downstairs the office manager for the Doc came out and said "Doc doesn't want you to have to walk, I have a car coming"

They called Uber, the taxi service and a guy in a new Lexus drove us to the restaurant where they had champagne waiting. Forty bucks for a lunch salad! Back in Orlando, I'd be lucky to get a certificate for a whopper.

This is the strangest trip ever and I can't wait to get home.
