Default I hope I posted this in the right place!

Last night I made a trip to MN because my father was honored. You might remember a while back my dad gave me all his military stuff he didn't want it any longer. I posted a pic and a bunch of you helped me identify what he had and was missing. He was missing a bunch. So my mother and I went to the Veteran Service Center back home and after 4 months of screwing around and planning it all came together. Last night he had his annual Legion steak fry and we surprised him buy giving him all his "costume" jewelry all done up and gave him some credit he was long over due. He was very surprised and a bit and very emotional over the whole thing. He was forced to speak for a minute and all he said was I didn't do what I did to get these medals, I did it because I had to and it just needed to be done. My friends who didn't make it home didn't get to have these. It was very sobering. He was very happy with all the attention none the less. The Legion Commander was there and all the family and all his brother Legionnaires too. It was a great night.

I attached a couple of pics, the one in Nam, he is the one sitting on his butt. (second one in from the right)
Just wanted to share!

Bronze Star? AND the Air Medal? Would like to be a fly on the wall one night when he's talking about the experiences. Hug him for me!

You tell him thanks from all of us for his service. That was very thoughtful of you and your mom to get him what he deserved.

The biggest pain in the a** you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you from the mirror every morning.

Good judgment comes from experience, and most of that comes from bad judgment.

That was a good thing you did, , and for a genuine American Hero.

Even if he denies it

God Bless him and as others have said, please thank him for his service.

Tom
