Merry Christmas all!
I'm going to take a more "modern" approach to the "Christmas YouTube" video thing going on in this thread. Those of you who watched or followed the "America's got Talent" series this past summer should be familiar with this young lady: And, then, this performance, which earned her the "golden buzzer..." Well, long story short, she made it all the way to the finals, but it was a tough road for her. She almost didn't even make it there... it took Simon giving her the "judge's save..." even after she lost the "Duncan Save" in the semis. I attribute this due to the AGT Voting body.... 1) THey really aren't into Opera and probably didn't appreciate the talent this young lady has... and 2) That same public is more likely to connect to some of the other contestants who, admittedly, are quite talented but also had some sort of physical/mental disability and yet still demonstrates that talent. Hence, the winner of AGT2019 was Kodi Lee, an autistic young man who does have the talent. 3rd place went to a comedian who was born with deformed arms/hands. Both were relatively talented, but I'd have to wonder if either would have made it as far if they didn't have their disabilities... ie. if they were just as "able bodied" as Emmane. But I digress. Emmane came in 9th in the finals. But it really doesn't matter. For her, the show wasn't about winning... it was about the "exposure..." And exposure she got! In fact, she now has a recording contract with Decca Records. The following are the two "singles" they released of her... just in time for the Christmas Holliday: And, the more important one (i.e. "Christmas" wise....): And... Here's a "Behind the Scenes" video on how the above was produced... Who says Florida doesn't have some fantastic talent!!! Have a safe and happy one folks!
