Default Recommendations on Gunsmith Work for CBOB

Well.....my CBOB will soon be demoted to the safe as is it being replaced by my newly acquired ECO (after my range testing of the ECO is complete). So the wheels are turning on how far to take the refurbishing of my CBOB. At the very least I would get it re-beadblasted and returned to its original condition. My other option would be to send it out and have it customized in some fashion.

Level 1 (Factory redo)
Restore to original finish which would include re-bead blast and re-polishing of the flats.

Level 2 (One mod)
Flat top and serrate the slide.

Level 3 (All-out)
Flat top and serrate the slide
Highpower cuts
Undercut trigger guard
New trigger that doesn't wobble
New grip safety that doesn't wobble
New thick barrel bushing and plug
Reverse crown muzzle treatment

Also I am toying with the idea of Hardhat as I hear a lot of good things about it. After seeing the Duty Coat on the newer Dan Wessons it has given me an appreciation of a deep black pistol.

My biggest question is: What Gunsmith do I trust to complete the work?

I know that Severns Custom is an option but he isn't taking on any new work at the moment and his pricing seems to be higher than others.

Let me put my .02 cents worth here,

1) Any Gun Smith with a Good Reputation will have awaiting list.
2) Prices on Gun parts go up just like the price of ammo and guns themselves Blame Old Bummer.
3) Dave gave you a Good List, also so talk to navman on here........

Option 2. Consider selling it to me? Then you won't have to make any decisions you might regret later....And you will be doing the old Irish Priest a service!

Being that this CBOB was my first 1911 it won't be changing hands as long as I'm alive.

I'll second Navman if he'll do it.

I'm very happy with my bobtailed commander.
