An old guy in our little town here was a Corpsman at Iwo. Every year he would drive to a reunion with the survivors. 2 years ago while on his way to the reunion, a couple thugs in South Carolina tried to rob him..when he refused to turn over what little money he had, they shot him down. His little house by the railroad tracks is still sitting empty, and I'm still pissed off about it.
