Default sometimes it pays to ask questions

So i have been looking for a Sig P225 for a very long time. Not a P6 police trade in import, but a P225. I had a friend that was with the Talent Oregon police department when I was with gold hill. Hector picked up the P225, while i picked up the HK usp. My one gripe of the USP was the gritty first trigger. I am happy to say after 30k through it, the trigger does not bother me.

I spent some time looking for p225's recently. I ran across two Gun broker Auctions.

The first i bit up to 705. For a 2003 P225 one of 900 units imported. Here are a few photos

As you can see a very nice example of a p225. I would be surprised if it had been shot much if anything. My bid started at 555, went to 630 and hung there till someone out bid me at 710. That same guy must have thought i was going to snipe it and hit buy it now. Oh well. that is the way of it. I did learn a few things. A few p225s were imported in the mid 90's 95/96 (which puts it right at hector's pistols age) and again in 2003. Both were limited imports of all German made parts assembled in the US. on to auction 2

Auction 2 is a classic example of why you need to ask questions, for photos, get the story behind the pistol. This is a pawn shop pistol, that does not bother me. I spoke with the owner of the pawn shop. Nice guy by the name of Chris. He snapped a few requested photos for me. He did take this pistol out and shoot it. Again that does not bother me. Here are the photos from his listing

As you can see hiss photos lack any real sort of detail, but i took a gamble and asked for more photos. I asked for photos of both sides of the pistol, the barrel shroud stamp, and under the trigger gaurd. There are 3 places that typically have import marks the left and right sides of the frames. PW arms redmond wa, CAI Georgia respectively. and there is a third often placed in the trigger gaurd by a smaller importer (t something it escapes me at the moment) Interarms also imported a few back in the mid 80's but that is not the case with this one. Chris the pawn owner texted me a dozen photos of the pistol via his I phone. Here is what i got.

Iphone photos

No import marks on the underside of the frame in the trigger gaurd

Gaaaak! trigger discipline missy, finger out of the trigger gaurd!

So as you can see. one it has no import marks, two it has exeter NH roll marks. But no sig exeter roll mark on the frame. I need to check the date codes, but with the case, i am betting i found myself a 1990's vintage p225 in good nick. WOOT! I am asking him to send me an other photo of the dustcover. I will let you know. PS i snagged this for 625.

Very nice P225's you have there. I love Sig's and have several including a P225.
