I use 140s in my model 19s as a compromise between velocity and long gun life.
I use Hodgdon H110 for my full power and nearly full power loads. I use Hodgdon Longshot for my mid-range (slightly above 38 Special +P) loads since I already had it. It was somewhat hard finding load data for it, but my chronograph helped me figure out how they were running. I use Alliant Unique for my light plinking loads. For JHPs, I used Hornady's XTPs. My 19s have been very forgiving with reloading. Every load that and friend and I worked up for his 6" 586 has worked very well in both of my 19s. ![]()
