Default Rossi m92 38/357 lever rifle

Just dialed the 357 M92 in this morning. Used 158 grain Freedom Munitions remanufactured fmlfp. No malfs, smooth feeding, throws brass straight up and over your head landing 5 feet to the rear.

Best group was 3" at 100 yrds benched. I wanted to know the buckhorn ladder settings for 25, 50 and 100 yds. The following observations.

From the ladder on the rear buckhorn, set on level 1 [ lowest notch which would lower the impact ] first.

50 yds, first notch up was hitting 3" low.
50 yds, second notch up, near dead on
100 yds second notch up, low about 3"

25 yrds, first notch up, near dead on
25 yds, second notch up, about 2" high

100 yds, 3rd notch up the ladder, 3" group about 1/2" low.

Resolved to keep the ladder on the second notch up. At 25 yrds it'll be just under 2" high, dead on at 50 yrds and just about 3" low at 100 yrds. The last 10 rounds [ one tube mag worth ] off hand at 100 yrds snap shooting it, the group showed right at 6" for 10 rds. Came back and bore snaked it, brushed out the cartridge carrier area and wiped it down, then back in the safe.

This one can put all rounds no farther than 3" high or low from POA out to 100 yrds using the second notch up on the ladder, and that's where it's going to stay. I'm very happy with this M92 Rossi.

Anyone else have a pistol caliber lever rifle? Thoughts?

I find this Rossi much lighter and handier than the 94 30-30's.
