Welcome to the forum, Mike.
Are you going to be stationed permanently on 29 Palms, or are you going there for schooling in conjunction with a PCS move somewhere else? California is easy enough to do, as long as you get to do it as an outsider, which you essentially get to do as a military guy. Thank you for your service, and stay safe. .
