The Winchester I have is Miroku made in Japan. I have often wondered why they don't make them in the US anymore.

I have black and white pics of the rifle, a station wagon, an elk and Uncle George, taken in Montana. He said the shot was around 400 yards, and he was never known to lie

I like Springfield Armory 1911's. However, many people don't know their frames come from Brazil. Springfield's are not Made in the USA. Some companies boast Made in the USA. However, what they should say is "assembled in the USA". One reason I like the PTR rifles now. The company is now making almost the whole rifle, in house, in South Carolina.

I don't hate non USA guns but try to US get them if I can. I have many countries in my safe, but I am a huge fan of STI guns all American made except the Spartan that comes from Armscor, same as RIA. Good guns as well. Springfield is a huge joke the way they portray themselves as an American company, not saying their products are not good just don't care for them.

I do think its kind of though that the gun loving American man who goes to rally's for America and preach kill all the illegals on the spot usually carry a .....

And that is where thing blurr for me. Some Glocks are made in Smyrna Georgia, so he jobs are here but do the end profits go over to Austria?

Springfield had me fooled for a while till I checked it out and found out the only thing American is the name Springfield Armory. Yes I know they still make some here but it is a fraction of the number of Croatian jobs we are supporting.

Don't get me wrong as I said I have more foreign arms in my safe than domestic. Also mixing of nations has been going on since before John Moses Browning went to France because of a money spat with Colt.

While there are some pistols I would not buy (Croatian ones come to mind) They are more about the pistol than where they are made.
I look at the reliability of the pistol and if it's going to serve my purpose.
