On a project like a pistol build you need to have patience, you cannot just rush the parts together.

Take your time, ask questions if you are not sure of something and once again take your time!!!!!

You wern't talking about me dave were you? I built a gun...too soon before I probably should have and I had some same issues, HOWEVER when i thought I was finished I took it to my gunsmith and had him go through it..turned out really nice....I did buy some parts twice though. For the record I will not build another gun either......

I agree totally! I know how to use a mill and a lathe, can weld, and have a toolbox full of gunsmithing tools. I know my limitations and will not try to exceed them. I can put new sights on a 1911, but no way I am going to try and cut the dovetail.
