Back in my day, April 1976 I was being admitted in hosp. for gunshot complications. My old friend Vining from Columbus Ga PD was killed by bank robber.
He was on one channel while BOLO went out on another, etc and stopped the guy for speeding. DB shot twice w/ .22mag, DRT head shots. Another old friend dispatched the DB to his maker with a 12 gauge when they found him. You could cover the shot pattern with your hand, #1 buck, directly over his heart. You didn't shoot the police back then The Chicago gang unit used to have tee shirts that said "be kind to the police or we will beat your ass" and they wore them all the time with no PC squealers. Needless to say, since I was there in the day, I take it personal when someone kills a brother or sister.
