Default Help me identify a round.

If you fine people can help me identify a round. The following pictures were sent to me by a friend asking to identify a particular round.
The first picture is a comparison with a .223 and a .30-06.
The second picture is of the primer, which as you can see, is deeply recessed.
Thanks.

My guess is that it was used in a rifle with a tubular magazine. Hence the recessed primer - to avoid setting off rounds in the magazine by the pointy bullet.

What rifle, I have no idea. Need to know caliber and length of case at least. Base diameter and rim diameter would help.

Never seen that one before. Sorry, can't help you out on this one.

Looks like a really old round, will know (it's from his time).

PS: I posted your question on two military surplus forums I belong to. Maybe, they will know.

One person from another forum says..... "It looks a little like a 416 Rigby-ish, although that neck looks a little long". He requested measurements, including case, case neck, and projectile.

I think it may be an anti-tank round. Possibly a Boys Rifle (English), or a DHSK (Dishka, Soviet), or a Hotchkiss anti-tank.
