The bayonet on the 1917 and the Arisaka are like small swords. Maybe use them as mechetes for clearing brush.

Longest one I have is a Swiss M1914, which may also be the meanest, nastiest bayonet I have seen.



Compared to the M9 bayonet issued today - the cork tiles are 12" inches.



It is 1.5" shorter than the barrel of the rifle it was mounted to.
