I've been fortunate. Through my career I've had the opportunity to make overtime. While I shared with my family and took vacation I always used it for my to "toys." Never our living wages.
Now, that I'm retired my range job pays for more. Even in this communist state I managed to pick some great ones. Some worth a lot of money and some historical. What burns me is certain specific items that I can't have. For example I want to build an M16A1 clone like I shot in boot camp. Also, a suppressor and/or suppressed weapon. One day.

Congratulations. I haven’t been shopping for any firearms since this whole crap
started. Waiting for the surge of used (never shot) guns to go up for sale when this passes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey that is great. I have a co-worker SIL who lives in the Minneapolis area of MN. He has been trying to buy a gun for weeks. He was wanting a shield or Glock type pistol. He can't find anything. We have been watching buds and GB very closely now but the issue is he is a MN resident. They are like CA on weapons so everything is more difficult.
But I think we found him a shield last night so will see. This is just crazy

Another quick question. I'm doing my best to stock up on some ammo in order to go do my test firings of my built AR, and some check out / break in firings of my other newly acquired items. It's hard, and I may have to pay going rate for a small bit of it (only enough to do the check outs) and, after that, I hold out for much lower prices.
I have an opportunity to pick up some Federal XM855 Green tip at a very reasonable price (too reasonable if you ask me), but it comes in 10 round clips (i.e. stripped on). Would I be able to remove the rounds from the clip and just load them into a magazine or will they only work on their clips? If I can do that, then it would be well worth the effort for the price I'm paying. ![]() |

Yes, you may. It actually makes it easier if you know how and have the second part to the stripper clips that goes on the magazines. It's meant to load 10 rounds at a time into the magazines.

According to Sportsmans Outdoor >LINK
it comes with a stripper clip guide (also called a "spoon" by GIs). You just clip the spoon onto your mag & slip the stripper clip into the spoon. Then you just push on the top round and all 10 slide into the mag. Be careful not to slide your thumb down the stripper clip. It can cut.

For cheaper pricing? I dunno. I've always felt the need to get NIB stuff. I've been reluctant to buy "used" because, just my luck, I'll get one that was used in a Federal bank robbery where three LEOs were killed with it. ![]() That, and I'm also concerned that they actually *might* get some Anti-2A stuff passed. I want to ensure I have all my "acquisitions" complete before any of that happens. Last edited by FfNJGTFO; 03-16-2021 at 09:15 AM. |
