We have Kaku Wahoo kayaks. Most of their stuff, including the paddle boards, have great seats. https://kakukayaks.com/collections/voodoo

To date, I have Kayak'ed only once in my life, that I can recall. ANd, believe it or not, it was in Palau. I ended up a bit more disappointed with it than I could have been.
The day before, I had made the hike up and down to "Jellyfish Lake." You have to hike a bit of distance to get to it (and hike up and down a mountain), once you land on the island. But when you get there, you can swim With the jellyfish. These particular jellyfish have evolved over time and have lost their ability to sting... or, at least hurt/cause damage when stinging. It is safe to swim with them. I still had on a full body wetsuit, nonetheless. I loved it. The next day, we were taken to a small series of islands to go Kayaking for a couple of hours. Single rider kayaks, so I was all under my own power. Of course, we were out in open water so we saw all the fish, etc. and, especially, that same species of Jellyfish you saw in Jellyfish lake but *not* evolved and had full stinging power. I was within inches of (and, roughly, at surface level with) these buggers. It was all I could do to get out of the rocky areas where they were congregating. Thankfully, the tour organizer had to cut the outing short due to a pending Thunderbumper. I was so glad to get back on the boat to go home. Not that I disliked the "Kayak" part of it, but I guess the jellyfish part traumatized me a bit. Last edited by FfNJGTFO; 09-05-2022 at 05:23 PM. |

Thanks for the info. A comfortable seat seems like a no brainer but I would not have thought of it. Renting on the weekends isn’t so bad but they have no features.

I found this an issue, but I think its the life vest I had. Was very bulky and just not fitting properly. I think when it does come down I need to get my pfd first then find a proper one with a great seat.

all I know about kayaking is that the thing goes in the water, I would have to paddle it to go anywhere, and that I really don't like being out on the water very much. But I would agree with "get one with good seats!" Because you're butts gonna get wet! OH! and don't tell Kaden very much about Wake boats and tri toons
