For close range combat nothing beats and Aimpoint red dot. The Aimpoint PRO can be had with a mount for less than $400 shipped. I have an Aimpoint H1 on a Daniel Defense mount and love it..... it's super light and fast on target.

A newer more expensive and heavier option would be the Trijicon SRS. But it has been getting high marks from the people that were willing to pay $800+ for them.
